Organic All-Purpose Red Fife Flour

$18.95

Red Fife has been making a comeback in the artisan baking community and is known for its complex taste, non-hybridization, and high gluten content. It is also known to be Canada's oldest wheat variety.

We have chosen Red Fife as our All-Purpose replacement flour because it is high in protein but has slower gluten development, making it more resilient to overmixing and helping to avoid dense muffins, cakes, and breads.

Our Organic Red Fife is grown by one of our incredible farmers, Marc Loiselle, in Vonda, SK. Marc's farm is multi-generational and has been in operation for 115 years. He and his family are passionate organic farmers and take pride in the quality of their products.

Our top-quality grains are always traceable, organic and nothing is ever added.

This is the flour I remember from decades ago. As a child in Saskatchewan I baked a lot. It is not overprocessed and blends well. Not floaty and clumpy in liquids. I do strain it just to break it up from settling but has produced fantastic goods!

Oh my gosh, this flour is fantastic!
I am so thrilled with my sourdough bread, discard muffins, ( bran, chocolate and banana.) The banana bread and focaccia bread are incredible also.
I order so much of the Red Fife 5 kg I seriously need to take a road trip to Better Basics facility and pick up a couple of 20 kg bags.

As good as it gets - been a customer for years because it is the best flour I have found.

I love this flour and will continue to order it. It tastes better and it's denser but yet still fluffy when you bake with it...amazing! And you're not feeding your family bleach and chemicals. A big win!
