Our 8-inch round and oval proofing baskets are handmade in Canada from 100% natural unbleached cotton rope. No synthetic fillers. No shortcuts. Each basket is individually made, which means slight variations in pattern and texture that are a feature, not a flaw. Perfect for loaves between 500 and 1000 grams.
What makes them different
Most proofing baskets are made overseas from rattan or synthetic materials. Ours are handmade right here, from North American-sourced unbleached cotton rope. Natural cotton holds flour beautifully, releases dough cleanly, and develops the classic spiral pattern on your loaf that every home baker is chasing.
Easy care
Use a liner to keep things simple, or dust generously with flour before each use. After baking, give the basket a firm shake to remove excess flour and let it air out. No need to wash after every use. For occasional cleaning, hand wash in warm soapy water and air dry completely before storing.

Worked great for me! Easier to manipulate than the rattan I tried before and no chemical smell like most amazon sourdough products.
It catches the dough, even though I generously cover the inside with flour. I am actually not very happy with this purchase for that reason only. I do like that it is woven cotton cord. If I could return it that might be better for me. Roxane Tash Reis

I love my proofing basket. And i especially love how easy they are to clean!
Love these baskets. They’re smaller than I thought they’d be, particularly the oval one, but they work great. I use them with a tea towel and havent tried washing them yet.
