Why All-Purpose Red Fife

Red Fife is Canada's oldest wheat variety, predating modern hybridized wheat by well over a century. Stone milled on our Austrian Osttiroler mill and lightly sifted, it has a naturally slower gluten development than modern hard wheat. That is what makes it so forgiving for everyday baking. Muffins stay tender, cookies do not go tough, cakes do not go dense.

No bleach. No synthetic folic acid. No added iron. No additives of any kind. Tested and certified glyphosate free. Grown by Marc Loiselle on Loiselle Organic Farm in Vonda, Saskatchewan, a family farm in operation for 115 years.
